Solutions Engineer

Job Description

As a Solutions Engineer at Shippo, you will play a critical role in our sales and customer success efforts for our high-volume clients, including large volume D2C merchants, emerging partners, and managed D2M accounts. You will work closely with our sales team to provide our prospects and clients with technical expertise. You will be responsible for understanding our client’s business requirements and using your technical expertise to design and implement solutions that meet their needs. You will also work closely with our product and engineering teams to provide feedback on the product and help improve the overall user experience.

Shipping & handling responsibilities:

  • Act as a technical advisor to our sales team and prospects, with a focus on high-volume clients
  • Understand client requirements and design solutions to meet their needs using the Shippo API
  • Support the delivery of product demonstrations and technical presentations to potential clients and existing customers
  • Assist with the development of proposals and statements of work
  • Help develop proof-of-concept solutions to showcase Shippo’s product capabilities
  • Create and drive customer onboarding plans
  • Collaborate with sales, product, and engineering teams to ensure smooth integration and delivery of solutions.
  • Capture and share product feedback with the product and engineering teams to help grow our offering
  • Contribute to creating and maintaining technical documentation and training materials
  • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance your technical skills and knowledge

Requirements

  • Ability to clearly articulate technical issues and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience identifying, diagnosing, and resolving issues related to APIs, ensuring smooth integration and performance
  • Strong understanding of SQL for querying databases and troubleshooting data-related issues
  • Ability to effectively explain API-related issues to customers, offering clear, actionable solutions
  • Ability to read and understand Python code for debugging and issue identification purposes

Bonus

  • Bonus if prior working experience is in Shipping, eCommerce,  or Warehouse/3PL environment

Our Compensation Shippolicy:

We believe compensation is a custom experience and are commited to fair and equitable compensation practices. The standard base pay range for this role is min $114k to a max $155k annual salary (standard range). We tend to anchor our offers in the mid point ($135k). Since we are focused on hiring Shippos Everywhere, we have 2 US pay ranges, a standard compensation range for the majority of the US and a standard +1 compensation range for those who live in areas where the cost of labor is higher, such as NYC and California.
The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: financial budgets, work experience, training, transferable skills, business needs, and market value. The base pay salary ranges are subject to change and may be modified in the future. Total compensation for this role will include, equity, medical, dental, vision and other benefits noted in our Shippos “package” section.
