Job Description

Osano is hiring an innovative, experienced Sr. Software Engineer to join our growing Engineering team and help build out our enterprise platform. The ideal candidate is a Backend engineer with experience developing modern web applications in an agile environment. 

Osano’s engineering teams work in small, concentrated pods to improve our codebase and have amassed a backlog of interesting technical puzzles and product initiatives. In this role, you would work with our Cookie Consent pod to further Osano’s consent manager initiatives. Technical expertise in JavaScript, AWS services, Infrastructure as Code, and a passion + empathy for the customer experience will serve you well in this role.

The Role 

• Collaborate with Engineering + Product teams to build new features into Osano’s Cookie Consent product to increase value for our customers and help safeguard web user privacy. 
• Develop web applications against modern web service APIs (REST, Postgres, etc). 
• Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements in existing systems and platforms. 
• Transform basic requirements into elegant designs and performant web application solutions. 
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, test engineers, internal stakeholders and customer experience teams to efficiently deliver software solutions. 
• Collaborate with engineers to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices. You’ll also mentor others as our team continues to grow and they develop in their career. 
• Be ready to grow through self-initiated learning and company-driven programs. 

About You

• You’re a backend Engineer with 5+ years of experience, preferably in the world of SaaS. You’re passionate about delivering high quality code on-time within an agile environment! 
• You have working experience creating, deploying, and managing AWS resources with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation or AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK). 
• You have experience with JavaScript frameworks (React, Redux, Hooks). You understand the possibilities (and limitations) when working with these libraries, and you can share your reasoning when making development, design, and architectural decisions.  
• Experience using backend JavaScript frameworks (Express and Node)   
• Experience designing data structures and querying popular relational and non-relational database technologies like PostgreSQL and DynamoDB 
• Experience with AWS services such as ECS, S3, CloudFront, Aurora PostgreSQL, SQS, Lamda, etc.  
• Experience building out AWS environments (including but not limited to setting up VPCs, configuring ACLs and security groups)   
• You enjoy challenging puzzles and bring flexibility + creativity to problem-solving. You’re eager to learn, explore new problems and technologies, and take risks to make a big impact. 
• Nice to have: Experience with CI/CD platforms such as automating and deploying code through GitHub Actions

Compensation

Based on your skills and experience, you can expect your annual base compensation to be between $140,000 and $160,000. We want everyone at Osano to have a stake in our success, so you’ll also receive stock options upon joining the company.
